My first Old Skool Ford (Circa 1982) Bought as a 1703 Runner, the gearbox went, so out came the old 1703 and in went a Rover V8 and Transit Front Axle. The rear axle was put underneath the leaf springs to get the height. On the night we finished it (I say we, it was built by two friends of mine Taff and Rod, but I did help) we jumped in it and drove down to Skewjack Surf Village in Cornwall, we broke down twice on the way and twice on the way back! Those WERE the days! Now I come to look at it again, I think I'd swap me Pop for a Mk2 Consul, it was a funky motor!
